How to get to Santa Marta

  • If you plan on flying, you should arrive to the Santa Marta airport (Simón Bolívar International Airport (SMR)).
  • If you're traveling from an international destination, we recommend arriving to Bogotá and from there taking a flight to Santa Marta.
  • For those traveling from an international destination, we do not recommend traveling by land from Bogotá to Santa Marta. To make your arrival in Santa Marta easier and more convenient, we always recommend looking for flight options.
  • The most recommended airlines for domestic flights are Latam and Avianca.
  • Once you arrive in Santa Marta, you can take a taxi from the airport to your place of stay, the taxi fare from the airport should not exceed 40,000 pesos (approximately 10 USD).

Where to Stay in Santa Marta

We recommend staying in either Bello Horizonte or Playa Dormida. These are the areas closest to the wedding venue. You can choose one of the hotels from this list or look for an Airbnb in the area.

  • Please avoid staying in the Rodadero area. It is a very congested and touristy area.
  • Kapikua is a small hotel, but it has very few rooms and they do not rent them out when there is a wedding.
