Dress code
- It's hot in Santa Marta. We recommend wearing light and cool clothing that fits the dress code of each event.
- The ceremony (December 15th) will be on the sand, so wear comfortable shoes. For women, we recommend wearing flat sandals, platforms, or block heel sandals. For your dress, try to wear light fabrics.
Gifts
- Please no gifts.
Transportation
- There is no Uber in Santa Marta. Avoid hailing taxis from the street. Call a taxi service from your hotel or wherever you are to request the service.
- The city of Santa Marta is located 35 minutes from Bello Horizonte/Playa Dormida.
- Bello Horizonte is about 10 minutes from Kapikua.
- After the wedding party (December 15th) don’t worry about finding a taxi, there will be taxis available at the venue.
In Santa Marta
- Avoid the beaches of El Rodadero, as they are very crowded.
- Avoid buying seafood on the beach, look for fresh options.
Traveling domestically
- Traveling by plane is the best option. Flights in Colombia are always less than an hour and a half, and flight generally never cost more than USD 100.
